Welcome

Eastfield Infant and Nursery School is in the beautiful town of St Ives, Cambridgeshire. The school currently consists of a Nursery, which offers spaces for pupils mornings and afternoons. The main school building teaches pupils from Reception to Year two. Our school benefits from excellent links with Westfield Junior School and this ensures a good quality transition for our pupils when they reach Key Stage 2. Our school has served the town of St Ives for 50 years now and we look forward to celebrating our golden anniversary over the next year!

Our curriculum is broad and we lead with the children’s interests in mind whenever we can. We are also very fortunate to have the richly historical Riverport on our doorstep and we take advantage of the many learning opportunities that this can offer whenever possible. We invite visitors into the school regularly to provide a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Recently, these have included the Britten Sinfonia, a pantomime of ‘Jack and the beanstalk’ and the ‘Living eggs’ company, during which our visitors turned from eggs to chicks!

Children at Eastfield also enjoy a range of extra-curricular activities from lunchtime Lego Club to yoga, choir and much more.

Here at Eastfield, we are very proud of our pupils. In our most recent OFSTED, the team reported that, ‘Pupils enjoy coming to school and they enjoy their learning. The good relationships between adults and pupils means that the atmosphere in classrooms is positive and encouraging.’

We are very fortunate to have lovely grounds at the school and this has enabled us to provide Forest School activities to our pupils, as well as a new sensory garden with a pond for our frogs. We are extremely proud of our new pond area, after it was commended by the judges during the St Ives in Bloom competition in 2018. These areas enable us to provide excellent spaces for outdoor learning for pupils across the school.

Our school also greatly benefits from the on-site wrap around care provided by Club4U. The club provides breakfast club and after school club for Eastfield and Westfield pupils. Club4U also provides a pre-school for 2 year olds. If you would like more information on Club4U, please look at their page on our website.

We have tried to provide as much information as we can within this website, but a visit to our school will give you a much better picture of what we can provide for you and your child.

Please contact us to arrange a visit and a member of staff will be happy to show you around and answer any questions you may have.
