Admission to the main school
Applications for a school place are made directly to the local authority in which you live. Admission to Eastfield is managed by Cambridgeshire Local Authority. In Cambridgeshire places are offered in Reception from the September following your child’s 4th birthday. To apply for a place or for further information about the process, please visit the Cambridgeshire County Council website or call 0345 045 1370. In the event of over subscription, the process for determining priority for the allocation of places is also administrated by the Local Authority. If you would like to visit please contact the school office for an appointment.
Admission to Eastfield Nursery
Children start Nursery in the term after they have had their third birthday (i.e the January, April or September after their 3rd birthday). We like to know about our future pupils as soon as possible. If you would like to visit please contact the school office for an appointment. Information on how to register for Nursery is available from the school office.
Our Nursery is able to provide 15 universal hours with no additional charges (morning sessions, or afternoon sessions Monday-Friday)
However, we are are also able to provide up to 30 hours of childcare, subject to availability. Please contact the office to discuss your requirements.
The minimum sessions available are 4 sessions a week.
Opening times and session times:
Nursery is open from 8.30am to 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday. We run 2 sessions and a lunch club a day:
Morning session (3 hours): 8.30am to 11.30am
Lunch Club (available to children attending all day only): 11.30am to 12.30pm
Afternoon session (3 hours): 12.30pm to 3.30pm
Please see the links below for information on funding. Our school’s URN or Ofsted number is 110707 and the school number if required is 873/2246.
Free provision (15 hours) for all 3 and 4 year olds can be found here.
Eligibility criteria for 30 hours of free childcare can be found here.
If you are accessing this funding, your child is eligible to join our lunch club if you wish, at an additional charge of £5.50 per day, see summary of fees below (subject to availability & all day children only). In addition to this, a school dinner can be purchased at a cost of £2.50 per meal)
For those children who have 30 hours funded and wish to attend Nursery full time including the lunch club, (5 days x 7 hours = 42 hours per week), then we charge for the additional 5 hours @ £5.50 per hour. This is invoiced on a half termly basis.
(Please note that an all day child can attend for the morning session and be collected at 11:30, and brought back to school at 12:30 ready for the afternoon session. The lunch club is not mandatory in order to access an all day space)
For those children who wish to have additional sessions above their 15 hours universal funding, additional chargeable sessions are available (subject to availability) at £16.50 per session (8:30-11:30 or 12:30-3:30)

Please note our Nursery is open term time only. Any funding claims will be ‘non stretched’ and capped at 38 weeks a year.
A place in our Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception and an application for main school should be made direct to Cambridgeshire County Council.
